CLAPA believes that every smile tells a story.
Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness Week is a chance to share and spread real-life stories of the way cleft affects people and families in the UK with friends, family, and within the wider community.
With around 100 babies each month born with a cleft, CLAPA wants to help everyone affected to make their voices heard. This year, Awareness Week runs from 5th to 13th May 2018, and we want everyone in the CLAPA Community to have a chance to get involved. We’ve even put together a brand new Awareness Week information pack to help you plan and make the most of the week.
With your help, we can re-write the story about cleft in the UK, and show the public it’s much closer to home than they might think. We want to raise the profile of a condition affecting 1,200 new families each year in the UK alone. We want everyone to understand the impact a cleft can have – and the difference the right support can make.
